- Jet stream
- Strong winds concentrated within a narrow band in the atmosphere. The jet stream often "steers" surface features such as front and low pressure systems.
- Joint Implementation
- Method of achieving reductions in CO2 emissions whereby rich countries (which will probably have made binding commitments to cut emissions) can get partial credit for emission reductions projects which are funded by them, but which are undertaken in poor countries. This is now referred to as the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to denote respect for developing countries' right to develop.
