Description
The Kankakee River, a tributary of the Illinois River, is located in northeastern Illinois and northwestern Indiana. It is 133 miles in length and has a drainage area in Illinois of approximately 2,170 square miles. Its major tributaries include the Iroquois River and Rock Creek. The Kankakee River flows west from Indiana and meets the Des Plaines River near the border of Will and Grundy counties to form the Illinois River.
