Description
The Fox River, a tributary of the Illinois River, is located in southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois. It is 202 miles in length and has a drainage area in Illinois of approximately 1,720 square miles. Its major tributaries include Indian Creek, Blackberry Creek, and Big Rock Creek. The Fox River flows south from Wisconsin, forming the Fox Chain of Lakes near the state border and eventually draining to the Illinois River near Ottawa.
