The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD), is a grass roots organization formed in 1948. It is made up and serves Illinois 98 member Soil and Water Conservation Districts (SWCDs).
Investigates the diversity, life histories, and ecology of the plants and animals of the state; publishes research results so that those resources can be managed wisely; and provides information to the public in order to foster an understanding and appreciation of our natural heritage
Conducts research, collects and analyzes data, provides public service on ground-water issues important to the citizens of Illinois, and serves as the States primary repository of ground-water records and data
Generates historical and spatial scientific data, investigates and understands watershed processes, and provides state-of-the-art scientific and engineering analyses to policymakers, planners, and resource managers so they can develop and implement sustainable watershed programs based on the best scientific and engineering analyses possible
